As we turn the calendar to the month of December, we look forward to visiting with our families during the Holiday Season and are busy preparing plans to travel to or host one or more of these festive occasions.
I wish all District 6330 Rotarians and their families a happy and joyous Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year.
Family is an important part of Rotary and Rotary can also be an important part of family as many family members support our club fundraising and service projects throughout the year.
Most clubs hold special Christmas events in the month of December, which provide an opportunity to celebrate our successes during this past year but also to thank family members for their support. It is also an opportunity to invite community leaders and non-Rotarians to attend and meet the Rotarians in their community and learn about what Rotary does locally and internationally.
I have visited all 61 clubs in our district and look forward to attending a number of club special events in the month of December. I was privileged to attend two special Polio Eradication fundraisers which were organized by the RC of St. Marys and the 6 clubs in Area 6 (Fort Gratiot, Port Huron etc.). Each event raised approximately $5000.
FOUNDATION AND POLIO PLUS DONATIONS: Contributions to the Annual Fund and Polio Plus to date in November have been excellent and I am sure more is on the way. I urge your club to send in at least 50% of your Foundation goals before the end of the calendar year as it makes it easier to achieve your goals by the end of the Rotary Year. I also ask you to encourage your members who plan to make a personal donation to do so before the end of 2014.
MEMBERSHIP UPDATES/RI DUES: Please ensure your membership information is up to date on the RI website before the end of December. The RI dues will be calculated on this information and there will not be an opportunity to change the amount on the invoice that you will receive.
2015/2016 CLUB EXECUTIVES: Clubs who have established their executive for 2015/2016 are asked to post them in the District and RI websites as soon as possible.
NOTE: For clubs “integrated” on the District website you need only to post on the District website. For the 8 clubs that are not integrated, please do so or enter the information on both sites.
