District Governor Doug's Monthly Message - from the April Issue of 'The Bridge'Image

Our District was honoured to have the President of Rotary International and his wife Corinna spend several days (March 19- March 22) with us in London to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Rotary Club of London. Gary and Corinna attended many events which are highlighted in this issue of The Bridge.

ImageAs your Governor, I had the privilege of not only hosting the RI President, I served as his aide throughout his visit and they were most gracious to work with. They are typical Rotarians-very nice people and very dedicated to Rotary.

It was not only a celebration of Rotary in London, but Rotary in District 6330, as the 12 “legacy” clubs that were sponsored by RC of London participated in all of the events, and many other clubs from the District were represented at one or more of the 5 official functions, especially the “gala” on Saturday evening, which was a spectacular event.

THREE MONTHS TO GO IN 2014-2015:
As we enter the last quarter of the Rotary year, it is a busy time for most clubs as they work to finish up this year and the new executive plans for the next year 2015-2016. There are many clubs and fund raising events planned in April, May and June.

I would ask 2014-2015 Presidents to submit the Presidential Citation for your club by no later than April 10th. I have to submit to RI by April 15th. Late submissions are not accepted.

RYLA SEMINAR FOR TOMORROW’S LEADERS-MAY 8-10, 2015:
For over 50 years, students from throughout the District have come together to participate in the Youth Leadership event, which has spurned a number of Interact Clubs as well as Youth Exchange candidates. Make sure you have your registration forms to Steve Dietrich by April 10th.

DISTRICT GOALS FOR APRIL, MAY and JUNE:
Maximize our Foundation and Polio Plus donations; continue to recruit and retain members and continue to Light Up Rotary.
