am deeply honoured to serve as your District Governor for 2014-2015 and have the privilege to follow the outstanding Rotarians who have served as our past District Governors. Their continued support in the upcoming year is appreciated. The two years I have spent in preparation for my year as District Governor have been the highlight of  my 34 years in Rotary, as over this time I have had the opportunity to meet many Rotarians from all corners of the world.

RI President Gary C.K. Huang’s theme for 2014-2015 is “Light Up Rotary”

President Gary asks all of us to Light Up Rotary by sharing our service, strengthening our clubs, and letting our light shine throughout our communities. “Rotary Days” are opportunities to give our communities a chance to learn more about Rotary and the service that we provide both locally and around the world.

We will also Light Up Rotary and make history by continuing our plan to eradicate polio, which is absolutely realistic within the next few years.

District 6330 Goals for 2014-2015

Increase Membership:   District membership has declined approximately 5% in the last 5 years. It appears we stopped the decline in 2013-2014 and our goal is to increase net membership to 2000 or more over the next 2 years.  Member retention and involvement, showing off our service via “Rotary Days”, other events and working with the area membership reps are some of the suggested activities to achieve this goal.

The Rotary Foundation:  The District Annual Fund giving has been approximately $110/member  or $200-$220,000 annually. Clubs are asked to promote the various ways that members can donate to the Foundation.

1) EREY—Every Rotarian Every Year—any amount..

2) Sustaining Member $100/year .

3) Paul Harris Society $1000/year.

Every increase of $2 in Annual Giving will provide an additional $1 for district projects in 2017/18.

Provide Effective  Communication: Most communication will be via the AG’s to the clubs. Presidents are urged to share with all club members. All members are encouraged to make use of the District 6330 and the RI Websites, including the new Brand Center. The District Newsletter will be sent to all members with a valid email address.  District chairs will provide updated information, AG’s and clubs will provide information on club activities and other events to the bulletin editor.

I am looking forward to visiting all District 6330 clubs in August, September and October.  I especially look forward to visiting with club members to learn about the service that their club provide locally and internationally.

If your club has a special function where I can provide support, please contact me and I will do my best to participate, as I feel my primary role as District Governor is to assist the members and clubs as much as possible.

Thanks to all for what you do for Rotary.
