Erin Shankie
 
Erin joined Rotary in 2012 after a Group Study Exchange to Japan. She held the role of
Foundation Chair, Vice President, President-Elect, and President with the Rotary Club of Greater
Flint Sunrise before become Assistant Governor for Area 7 in 2016.
 
In 2014, she founded ER Sports and Leadership, a company focused on creating leaders who
embrace unique perspectives, set goals, and foster positive team culture.  Her work involves
diverse groups of individuals in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors and concentrates on
teams to provide organizational development as well as build leadership and communication
skills.
 
Erin is a lifelong learner and is currently pursuing her PhD in Organizational Leadership to
accompany her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Master’s degree in Education-Instruction, and
graduate certificate in Leadership and Diversity Management in Sport.  She has been trained in
Sports-Based Youth Development (SBYD), nonprofit leadership and facilitation, and is an ACE
certified health coach.
 
She also facilitates training for runners and teaches youth dance.
Erin is engaged to Dan and has one daughter, Emerson.
