COVID caused us to pause and the ongoing Civil War in Cameroon, Africa is making it difficult for us to continue projects in that area. So, we are now looking at completing a water project in the village of Todos Santos in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala.
Todos Santos is home to a community of native Mayan people who live high up in the mountains. Using gravity to transport water from the top of the mountain, the community already has a water system in place. However, during the dry season, they run out of water. The current small cistern stores some water, but it is unable to see the community through the dry months.
This water project will install two new cisterns and also provide new latrines and a hand wash station at the school.

As an individual, or as a club, you too can be part of Hand Up. Send a financial donation or contact us about joining our committee. In the past 25 years, Hand Up has completed projects worth over 2.5 million USD. We often have 2 or 3 active projects taking place at the same time. Our committee has the expertise, enthusiasm and connections to make it happen. We simply need your financial support. This is an easy way for a Rotary or Rotaract Club to be part of an International Project without having to worry about Grant Applications, etc.
