
This year we are pleased to have an excellent candidate from our district to recommend for the Peace Fellowship. His name is David Lawless and he is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Owen Sound. He was interviewed by the Owen Sound Club and by District Governor, Tony Sheard, District Foundation Chair, Martin Ward, and District Peace Fellowship Coordinator, Jim Thomas. All have agreed David is an outstanding individual and worth of this important Fellowship.
David has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Guelph in Ecology, a Master’s Degree from the University of Oxford in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management. His work experience includes being a Senior Policy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada, a Policy Analyst in the Department of Canadian Heritage, and Park Interpreter and Scientist with Parks Canada. In these positions he worked climate change issues, indigenous reconciliation, and other complex issues. He is bilingual and has received several important awards and honours. His work has taken him to Europe, Africa, and the United States.
David is an excellent representative of our district and we are please to put his name forward for this fellowship.
