Focus on Literacy by our District is something that we all should be proud of. During my club visits I learned that virtually every club in our District conducts at least one literacy project in their community. Many clubs do a number of projects, including dictionaries to Grade 3, E-readers, mini libraries, mentoring and reading to children.

In addition, most International projects contribute to literacy by allowing children at attend school by providing clean water, sanitation facilities, school supplies and equipment.

Make sure your Club is recognized for the literacy projects conducted this past year by completing and submitting the Literacy Award application to District Literacy Chair, Susan Storie by April 30, 2015. All successful clubs will be recognized and receive their awards at the District Conference May 22-23,2015.

Rotary celebrates 100 years in London and District 6330
RI President Gary C.K. Huang and his wife Corinna will be visiting London March 20-21 and the Rotary Club of London has arranged a full weekend of Rotary Days activities. Please refer to their website and plan to attend as many of the activities that you can. One of the goals of the Gala committee is to have 100 or more District Rotarians achieve their PHF or the next level PHF during this Rotary year and to attend the Gala and be introduced to RIP Gary, who will personally thank you for your contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

As of January 31, 2015, 158 District Rotarians have achieved this goal. Please send the names and PHF level to Jim Belton, RC of London.. jimbelton@rogers.com...so that we can acknowledge all recipients on the program. We look forward to presenting these Rotarians to President Gary and Corinna.

Membership in District 6330
Total membership in the District continues to hover near the number that we started with. A number of clubs have added several new members, but we have also had a number of terminations. Please continue to recruit new members but also pay attention to retaining our present members by making sure they are engaged and supportive of the things we do in our community and internationally.
