Impact Story Submission Style Guide
Theme Focus: Increase Our Impact
We invite Rotary Clubs and Areas across District 6330 to share impact stories that showcase how Rotary is making a meaningful difference in our communities and beyond. Your story will help inspire others, highlight Rotary’s value, and demonstrate our shared commitment to Increasing Our Impact.
1. Article Length & Layout Options
You may submit:
Option A – One Page
- Up to 350 words
- 1 image
Option B – Two Pages (Centre Spread)
- Up to 700 words
- 2 images
Please stay within these limits to ensure your story fits the newsletter layout.
2. Focus: “Increase Our Impact”
- Your story should clearly show how your club or area is:
- Making a measurable difference
- Responding to real community needs
- Creating lasting change
- Strengthening Rotary’s relevance and reach
Think in terms of outcomes, not just activities.
3. Recommended Story Structure
Use this simple format:
A. Headline
Short, engaging, and impact-focused
Example:
Rotary Builds Brighter Futures Through Community Literacy Program
B. The Need (Why it mattered)
What problem or opportunity did you address?
Who was affected?
C. The Action (What Rotary did)
What your club/area actually did
Who was involved
Any partnerships
D. The Impact (The results)
Who benefited
What changed
Numbers, outcomes, or testimonials if available
E. The Rotary Connection
How this reflects Rotary values and service
How it aligns with Increase Our Impact
4. Tone & Style
Please aim for:
- Positive and inspiring
- Clear and concise
- Community-focused
- Plain language (not corporate or technical)
Avoid:
- Long meeting summaries
- Heavy use of Rotary acronyms
- Internal club administration details
Write for the public, not just Rotarians.
5. Images (Required)
Each page can include one photo.
Image guidelines:
- High-resolution (not blurry or pixelated)
- Shows people in action
- Represents the impact, not just a cheque presentation
- JPG or PNG format
Please include:
- A brief caption
- Photo credit (if required)
6. What Makes a Strong Impact Story?
Strong stories include:
- Real people
- Real outcomes
- A clear Rotary role
- A sense of purpose and results
Great examples:
- Youth programs
- Community partnerships
- International projects
- Health, literacy, environment, peace, or inclusion initiatives
7. Submission Checklist
Before submitting, please confirm:
